Remembering Kaylee Goncalves: A Life of Light, Love, and Legacy

On November 13, 2022, the world lost a bright, beautiful soul when Kaylee Goncalves was tragically taken from us in Moscow, Idaho. A beloved daughter, sister, friend, and student, Kaylee’s memory continues to inspire all who knew her.

Born and raised in Rathdrum, Idaho, Kaylee was the fifth child of a tight-knit family. Her love for life, laughter, and her family was evident in everything she did. She was full of energy, fiercely loyal, and radiated joy wherever she went.

A senior at the University of Idaho, Kaylee was majoring in general studies in the College of Letters, Arts, and Social Sciences and had recently made plans to move to Austin, Texas, for a tech job after graduation. She was known among her peers for her intelligence, resilience, and deep kindness.

More than anything, Kaylee loved her family, her friends, and her dog, Murphy. Her bond with her best friend, Madison Mogen, was unbreakable—two souls who were inseparable in life and now remembered together with immense love.

Kaylee’s passing left a void in the hearts of her community, but her light continues to shine through the lives she touched. From candlelight vigils to nationwide tributes, her spirit remains a source of unity and strength.

As her family courageously advocates for justice, they remind us of Kaylee’s fearless spirit. Their strength is a testament to the love she inspired.

Let us continue to honor Kaylee by remembering her laughter, her dreams, and her vibrant legacy. She will never be forgotten.
